![]() ![]() Thanks in advance to anyone who will take the time to help me. Because it's a stateful FW, I normaly don't have to setup a out direction rule, so. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but it's dosen't work. Users may assume that IPv4 and IPv6 address queries for localhost names will always resolve to the respective IP loopback address. I have setup a rule like that in the WAN Rules section :Įven if I do like that it's not working : I understand your confusion indeed for what I read from the rfc6761 about 'Special-Use Domain Names' 6.3, about the name localhost. I want to use this loopback interface to do many things, but at first I want to ping it from anywhere, and I don't know why, but I can't manahe to do it. From this interface I can ping my gateway and internet (no problem with # ping -S 51.xx.xx.203 1.1.1.1 Host loopback refers to the fact that no data packet addressed to 127.0.0. ![]() It is used to feedback any data you send through it, back to itself. This allows the software to install properly, even though there isnt a real network card installed in the machine. I have setup correctly an public IP to my Lo1 interface. The loopback is a dummy network driver, which can have real network protocols bound to it. For example, as can be seen below, the outputs of four different IPv4 loopback addresses (127.0.0.0, 127.0.0.1, 127.15.90.69, and 127.255.255.255) the network and broadcast addresses are unreachable loopback addresses and IPv6 loopback address ::1. I don't know if someone can help me but, I'm facing a problem. Type in ping followed by the loopback address. ![]()
